I started this trip thinking we were going to recreate my trip across the US when I was a kid that took 2 months to complete and try to squeeze into only 2 weeks. The more I use Roadtripper.com I am finding that the trip is shrinking day by day.
My first option was going to take us across the 7K+ miles across the middle of the United States in an RV with only two weeks of vacation. After looking at the amount of driving we would lose the ability to stop and enjoy the sites and sounds. I decided to reduce the amount of driving and just head out west in a plane.
I cut the trip from 7K+ miles to about 2K. In this route, we get to spend at least a day or two at some of the sites. The major stops are:
- Las Vegas
- Sequoia National Park
- San Francisco
- Los Angeles
